Family Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified
Functional Medicine Practitioner
Biofeedback Certified
My name is Erica Swinney. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with certifications in Functional Medicine, Quantum Biofeedback and CyroTshock therapy. I worked in ICU for 20 years then decided to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2015. Within a year of working as a Nurse Practitioner I became very concerned about the amount of chronic illness I was trying to treat. So many people were suffering and not getting better! I knew deep down inside there had to be a better way. I kept wondering what was causing such a wide range of health issues and why was so few people were able to feel better. I then found Functional Medicine -- which is the study of finding the root cause of illness. I realized that without knowing the cause how can you possibly find a cure. I have helped so many people get their energy and smile back along with coming off of some or all of their prescription medications. I can run specialized testing specifically for your current health issues. I review all testing results with you and provide you with a comprehensive approach to achieving wellness again. I use food as your medicine and I give great tips and programs that really work in helping your body heal itself.
A little about myself -- I have two daughters and I have lived in New Albany, Indiana my entire life. In 2013, (at the age of 40) I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. It was a devastating diagnosis. I did surgery to remove the tumor but I declined chemo, radiation and pharmaceuticals. I realized early on that there had to be a better way to heal my body. I then watched a documentary called “The Truth About Cancer”. It opened my eyes to all the thousands of natural healing modalities that people have been using to heal themselves from all types of diseases for hundreds of years. And so, my journey began …... I followed my heart down the holistic approach to healing my body. I’m very happy to say that I have been in remission without chemo, radiation and pharmaceuticals for the last 7 years and I am in the best health of my life! I have developed a very deep understanding of what it's like to be a patient and at the mercy of the healthcare system. At that time, I vowed I would give everyone I met the kindness, compassion and guidance they would need to heal themselves without the bureaucracy of the healthcare system. I pride myself in being able to offer prescription medication when needed and/or natural approaches too so that you can decide what is right for you.
Family Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified
My name is Whitney Hall. I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). I
graduated in 2012 from Indiana University Southeast with my bachelor’s degree in nursing. My nursing career began at Clark Memorial Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). I worked at that position for 5 years, then started at Harrison County Hospital in the ICU. I remained at Harrison County Hospital in the ICU for 6 years. In 2018, I decided to continue my education at Indiana Wesleyan University to pursue my master’s degree in nursing. During my clinical training, I treated a wide variety of patients of all ages, with many different ailments. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with my Master of Science in Nursing- Family Nurse Practitioner Degree in 2020. Then in May 2021, I became a board certified FNP by the ANCC (American Nursing Credentialing Center). I started my journey as a nurse practitioner with an inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center. I was the main NP that took care of 100-120 patients weekly. With this job I managed chronic diseases, acute illnesses, psych, and medically assisted treatment for addiction. I remained at this job for two years. In this type of inpatient facility, it is common for patients to want the “instant gratification” or “quick fix”. After working in this type of environment I realized that I needed to find another way to treat patients. I wanted to treat the root cause of the issue, not to give patients a temporary fix. So, at this point I started to look for another job that coincided with that same idea of treating the root cause and using natural ways to treat patients.
I started at Holistic Family Medicine Practice and Healing Center in October 2023. I want to
give patients an open, comfortable space to communicate. After a detailed discussion,
assessment, and potential labs, a treatment plan will be developed as a team. Patients need to be a part of their treatment plan to understand their own bodies and healing process. Each patient’s plan will be unique to them to promote the best outcome.
I live in the area with my husband and 2 children. I have been married since 2010 to my husband Josh. Together we have a 9-year-old, a 5-year-old, 2 dogs, and chickens. We love to spend time outside gardening, riding 4-wheelers/side-by-side, camping, swimming, watching movies, and
cooking together.
